In ​order to effectively conserve biodiversity on a global scale,​ it‌ is crucial to have consolidated, streamlined, and open access scientific data. This was the central theme ⁣of the ‌groundbreaking conference, Living‍ Data 2025.The event aimed to foster a transcontinental dialog‌ on past, present, and future research ‍into the biosphere.

The conference took place from October 21st-24th in⁤ Bogotá, Colombia and was made possible through collaboration ⁢between biodiversity networks GBIF (Global ‍Biodiversity Data⁣ Facility), TDWG (Biodiversity Information Standards), OBIS (Ocean Biogeographic Information System), GEO BON‍ (Group on Earth Observations Biodiversity Observation⁤ Network), with⁤ support ​from the Humboldt Institute.

With a global audience and a four-day agenda covering diverse innovations⁤ and challenges in this field, the stage was set for an inclusive and productive dialogue on biodiversity data.
