Prophy’s innovative AI-powered discovery system offers editors access to a diverse and qualified pool of peer reviewers through automated semantic analysis.
In a groundbreaking collaboration between open-access scholarly publisher Pensoft and the cutting-edge reviewer discovery system provider: Prophy, the editorial teams at all journals hosted on the publisher’s ARPHA Platform now have access to an expanded global network of researchers.
The integration seamlessly connects ARPHA’s editorial and peer review workflows with Prophy’s constantly updated database of millions of active, qualified researchers. This empowers editorial teams across more than 90 open-access peer-reviewed journals powered by ARPHA to utilize data-driven recommendations for potential reviewers based on structured analysis of their expertise and publication history, with matches tailored to each manuscript’s topic, field, and research focus.
This progress addresses a growing challenge in scholarly publishing. As submission volumes increase, there is mounting pressure on a relatively small pool of frequently invited reviewers, leading to delays and reviewer fatigue. By expanding the pool of potential experts and utilizing semantic analysis for better identification, this integration promotes a more sustainable and equitable approach to peer review.
“Through our partnership with Prophy, we aim to help editors discover expertise that may otherwise go unnoticed, promoting a more inclusive, well-distributed, and resilient peer review ecosystem. Our goal is not to replace human judgment with technology but rather to enhance it in a smarter and more responsible manner.”
Prof. Dr. Lyubomir Penev, founder and CEO of Pensoft and ARPHA.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Pensoft and ARPHA in bringing intelligent reviewer discovery tools to their editorial teams. Peer review should be efficient and fair, and this partnership achieves both objectives. Editors can now find the right expertise faster, resulting in less time spent searching for reviewers and fewer delays in the process. This integration enables editorial teams to manage growing submission volumes without exhausting their reviewer networks.”
Oleg Ruchayskiy,CEO of Prophy.
To further support editorial teams and journal owners using the platform’s services,Pensoft and ARPHA are offering free access to the Prophy integration for all journals until 2026.
This partnership reflects Pensoft’s commitment alongside ARPHA towards equipping journals with practical tools that enhance peer review processes while supporting editors’ efforts towards ensuring long-term sustainability of scholarly publishing.
