After undergoing a rigorous assessment, the journal has been deemed compliant with global standards of ethics, transparency, and quality.
Estuarine Management and Technologies now accepted in the Directory of Open Access Journals: a key scientific index known for its credibility as a filter for open-access journals.
The acceptance of EMT by DOAJ signifies that the journal has successfully met the requirements for compliance with global standards of ethics, transparency, and quality. The evaluation conducted by DOAJ includes an examination of the journalS peer-review processes, editorial governance, transparency (such as publication fees and funding), and ethical policies (such as plagiarism and conflicts of interest). For many institutions, funders, and libraries,DOAJ serves as a signal of legitimacy that distinguishes reputable journals from predatory or low-quality ones.
The recognition comes only two years after the launch of the journal, which was part of an initiative led by Dr. Soufiane Haddout (Ibn Tofail University, Morocco) in collaboration with open-access scientific publisher and technology provider Pensoft.
All articles published in EMT are already indexed and searchable on DOAJ. With the use of Pensoft’s in-house ARPHA Publishing Platform, future papers will be automatically exported to the platform upon publication in EMT.
Sence early 2024, the journal has been dedicated to promoting the exchange of research findings and ideas related to the conservation and lasting management of estuarine ecosystems, utilizing innovative technology and approaches. To support scientists from around the world, EMT operates under a Diamond Open Access model, meaning that neither authors nor readers are charged for publishing or accessing articles.
the journal welcomes studies from various disciplines, including physics, chemistry, geology, biology, and hydrology with an emphasis on interdisciplinary and holistic perspectives. A unique feature of EMT is its wide range of publication types, such as Education & Dialog, Estuarine scientists, and Video paper in 180s.
“We are proud to announce that Estuarine Management and Technologies has been indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals, marking our first notable milestone towards greater visibility and impact in the global scholarly community,”
said Dr.Soufiane Haddout on behalf of the journal’s Editorial Board.
“This important first step in our indexing journey validates EMT’s commitment to rigorous, transparent, and readily accessible research on technological innovations for estuarine research, management, and conservation. DOAJ inclusion enhances discoverability for our authors’ work and strengthens our role in advancing interdisciplinary solutions for these vital ecosystems. We are grateful to our authors, reviewers, and the pensoft team,” he added.

Great news for researchers and professionals in estuarine science!
